Not
so far from my home (in Tabanan, Bali), you can find so many tourist
destination. Beaches, temples or even cultural performances. But now, I would
tell you a natural based attraction located in Pujungan Village, Pupuan
District and Tabanan Regency, about 2 – 3 hours drive from Denpasar City.
Pujungan
village located in a highland near Mount Batukaru, about 750m – 1.300m above
sea level. This condition make the village has fresh air. Same with other
villages in Bali, majority of Pujungan Villagers are Hinduism and their
activities also influences by Hindus ritual.
Actually
Pujungan Village has some potential tourist attractions. But until now, only a view
tourist know about it. Pujungan village has a beautiful waterfall which the
name is the same with the village. The height of Pujungan waterfall is abour
25m with a very beautiful surrounding. Near of the waterfall also found an old
temple.
To
reach this waterfall, you can follow the Jalan Denpasar – Gilimanuk main road.
Then, turn right to Jalan Antosari Pupuan (road to Munduk – Singaraja). You can
find it on map (use digital map for more accurate). Follow the road to Pujungan
Village. There will be a signage to Pujungan Waterfall near a motor cycle show room. Follow the road till you find a bit uphill way on right side and way
down on the left side. It’s about 500 m from the main road. Here you can’t use
your motor cycle anymore. Take the uphill way and walk by following the dirt
road for about 600 m with coffee plantation surrounding, and you’ll find the
treasure J.
. Not
just a waterfall, Pujungan village also has peaceful place for meditation. Not
so far from the waterfall, there is a holly place with Shiva and Sarasvati
statue. Because of it’s a holly place (there’s also found a temple), not all
people can enter that place. If you want to go there, please prepare a sarong
and ask local people for permission. The way to that place is a bit hard,
because of the road is damaged. But you still can use your motorcycle until in
front of the temple (Car is not recommended).

Well
guys, that’s my short experiences at Pujungan Village. Just left nothing but
foot print and don’t take anything except photos. Be a good travelers guys J.
